I love Fall. I didn’t always. But now that I live in Arizona, where the weather is glorious this time of year, I absolutely love it. And so, I tend to get a little carried away when it comes to Fall decorating. In my opinion, you can never have too many pumpkins or fake leaves. Don’t judge. The leaves don’t really turn here. So, if we want to see those gorgeous yellow, orange, and brown hues, we have to embrace the fake.
After adding some Simple Fall Touches to my kitchen, I thought I’d share a few pictures so you can see how easy it is to make your home feel warm, inviting, and seasonally festive. As a bonus, I’ll throw in the world’s simplest recipe for pumpkin muffins with a brown sugar streusel top. They’ll make your home even smell like Fall!
When I decorate, I don’t change a whole lot. I just add to what already exists. The glass-domed server (above) was a gift from a friend. I think it’s so beautiful, I keep it on my island counter year-round. For a while there, I was making sure it was always filled with all sorts of yummy baked goods. But that quickly became a problem because I was eating them! So, I started putting seasonal decorations inside it. I do the exact same thing with the space above my kitchen cabinets.
Thanks to a Clearance sale at Hobby Lobby a few years ago, I have more than enough pumpkins and fall florals. The best time to buy them is when stores are trying to make room for Christmas inventory.
You can see that I just throw ’em up everywhere, including the back of my Dad’s little red truck that now lives on some floating shelves on the other side of my kitchen. I miss my Dad and this makes me think of him still driving around.
It’s the little things that make me happiest. My galvanized caddy, will be filled with hot cocoa packets and marshmallows come Christmas. But right now, it’s all about the pumpkin spice coffee and sleepy time tea.
I also make it a point to swap out my hand soap next to the kitchen sink. It’s one of those Simple Fall Touches that you can do for just a couple of bucks.
After putting all these decorations up, I was in such a good mood, I decided to make pumpkin muffins. It’s the same 2-ingredient recipe everyone makes, only I make mine a little special by adding a streusel topping. As promised, here’s the recipe.
Can you believe how easy that is?! You can add walnuts and make it even better, or just do the muffins minus the streusel. Either way, it’s the perfect go-to recipe if you’re inviting friends over for coffee in the fall. Be sure to swing by the Dollar store for some festive paper napkins.
Thanks for checking out my blog and spending a little time with me in my kitchen. I’ll get back to my painting and will be posting a new project real soon. Sometimes you just have to decorate your living space to get inspired.
Everything looks beautiful & thanks for the recipe; those muffins look mighty tasty!
You’ll love them, especially when you see how easy they are to make. 🤗
The most talented person I have ever known. It’s a true blessing to be able to call you our Friend.
All glory to God! 🙌🏼 But thanks for the tremendous compliment. I’m blessed to call you my friends, as well.
I’m inspired now to do more fall decorating thanks to your blog, Marcy!
I’m so happy you checked it out, Toni! I love decorating for all seasons and holidays. Groundhog Day is about the only thing I haven’t figured out yet. 😂
